Even though the weather outside was dreary and rainy, things were very lively in the WAG on Sunday, May 6th. The gallery was full and buzzing with over 830 people enjoying the festivities of the Rockwell Family Sunday Pancake Breakfast!

Gov't Grant to Create WAG Centenary Website

Today we got some exciting news that will help us celebrate our 100th anniversary in 2012. Mr. Rod Bruinooge, MP for Winnipeg South, announced that the Government of Canada, through the Canada Interactive Fund, will provide us with funding of $78,366 over two years for the creation of a dedicated, interactive centenary website which will be linked to this current site.

February has arrived...and so has the really cold weather! Remember, a frigid February day is the perfect opportunity to come and warm up in our galleries. We’ve got a number of fantastic exhibitions on view during the next couple of months, including an exhibition highlighting the work of Canadian encaustic artist Tony Scherman, who creates paintings with mixed color pigments and hot dripping wax.
